Handmade Cold Process Lye Soap
Our handmade all natural soaps are uncomplicated each is hand cut so each bar is unique. We use a combination of olive oil for extreme moisture and coconut oil for its great sudsing ability. Some bars are herb infused and essential oils are added for additional quality. Its this combination of oils with our modern techniques and simple ingredients that allow Good Scents Candle to provide you with a luxury soap you can afford to use (and indulge in!) every day. If you have never tried our handmade soap, you won’t believe the difference! The lather is creamier, the soap is non-drying and the fragrances are wonderful. And as an added benefit, the appearance of our soap is beautifully and naturally simple.
Each bar of soap weighs 3.7 - 4.0 ounces.
Bar shape is rectangular.
The dimensions are approximately 3"x 2" x ¾".

Basic Ingredients: Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Distilled Water,
Sodium Hydroxide (lye - no lye no soap !) , Fragrance Oil.
About the ingredients in our Handmade Natural Soap
The ingredients in our natural soaps will vary to some degree, depending on the type of soap made. All natural soaps are made with some kind of fat or oil, some kind of liquid, and of course sodium hydroxide or ’lye’. Most of us have heard our whole lives that oil and water don’t mix. And they don’t - Unless you change their chemical composition. And sodium hydroxide does exactly that. It changes the oil and water so that they can blend and become soap. Please make a mental note that although lye is one of the ingredients used to create soap, there is no lye left in our natural soaps! Lye is transformed in the soapmaking process, but is required for the soapmaking process. This is the one ‘chemical’ that is acceptable to find in the ingredient list for a natural soap. In fact, if it’s not there, chemicals and additives will have to be substituted. If that’s the case, it’s not a natural soap.
Notice:

Packaging: We do not wrap or shrink wrap our natural soaps. We ship our soaps in plastic bags to protect during transit. Upon receipt of your soap, we suggest you remove it from the bag and store it away from strong natural light. Strong light may cause our natural colorants to lighten, but will not affect the quality of the soap. Soap fragrance will seem very strong when you open the plastic, but will mellow once it’s been opened.
